Youth karate at the Camp Curtin YMCA uses a holistic approach focusing on self control, fitness, teamwork and self defense. This 8 week session teaches your child or teenager necessary life skills pertaining to their safety and wellness.

Advanced Training
Advanced Training is designed for experienced students who are ready to take their practice to the next level. This class focuses on refining technique while building strength, endurance, and self-discipline. Students will work on advanced combinations, controlled sparring drills, and weapons training using safe, age-appropriate equipment.

Instructor Training
Instructor Training is a supportive leadership class for adults interested in learning how to assist and teach martial arts in a safe, positive environment. Participants develop confidence, communication skills, and teaching fundamentals while learning to lead warm-ups, demonstrate techniques, and support students of all ages. The class emphasizes respect, responsibility, and caring, helping participants grow as role models and leaders both on and off the mat.

Isshinryu Karate Club is dedicated to enabling students to defend themselves and learn self-defense. The Martial Arts practice, Isshinryu Karate, is dedicated to focus on many skills and areas of personal growth. These areas of growth include self-defense, self-confidence, personal discipline, respect for others, and physical conditioning. Class is month by month. All participants must re-register each month for class.
