Collaborating with the Northern York County School District, the West Shore YMCA provides enrolled students the opportunity to play in their Recreational Youth Basketball League. For students in grades 3-6 at Northern York School District. Children must be enrolled in the Northern York School District to participate.

The Recreational Basketball League will be participating in a local mini-league with Gettysburg League. Everyone who registers will be placed on a team through assessments. Team t-shirts will be provided!

Dates: December 6, 2025 – February, 2026

Schedule: Practices TBD (Weekday evening and Saturday).  Sunday games at Gettysburg.

Our youth basketball skills clinic focuses on developing fundamental basketball skills, fostering teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Participants will learn passing, shooting, dribbling, and game rules. The clinic aims to enhance your skills, help you make new friends, and ensure you continue to love the game. Each group is limited to a maximum of 20 kids.

3v3 Basketball Intro League (Ages 10–12)

Join us Monday nights for our 3v3 Introductory Basketball League. A fun, low-pressure way to ease into game play! Designed for ages 10–12, this league focuses on teaching the basic fundamentals of basketball through guided 3-on-3 games. There are no referees and no scorekeeping! Just an hour of structured play led by our experienced Y-Coaches, emphasizing shooting, passing, defense, and rebounding.

Dates: Mondays, October 27 – December 15 (No class November 24)

Time: 6:30–7:30 PM

Location: Gymnasium Courts 3 & 4 at Friendship YMCA

Participants will participate in at least three tournaments across Central PA. Practices will be held at the YMCA.

Play with the folks who invented the sport on Saturday mornings at the Y! This 8-week program will focus on the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy habits. Children will learn rules and practice basketball fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, and in most cases going the right way down the court through fun drills and games. We will end the session with games for each grade level on week eight. 30 participant maximum.
