Our youth basketball skills clinic focuses on developing fundamental basketball skills, fostering teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Participants will learn passing, shooting, dribbling, and game rules. The clinic aims to enhance your skills, help you make new friends, and ensure you continue to love the game. Each group is limited to a maximum of 20 kids.

YBL is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8 of all skill levels and emphasizes teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, and fun! Participants will receive a team jersey and play at least 1/2 of each game.

Our goal for YBL is to offer the community’s children an enjoyable chance to learn and value basketball through active engagement in practices and games. This aims to enhance athletic skills and knowledge of the game, foster confidence and self-esteem, and promote a deeper comprehension of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others.

The Friendship YMCA Developmental Basketball program emphasizes skill development, gameplay concepts, teamwork, and FUN! For children of all skill levels.

Dates: 

• Winter: January 8-February 26, 2025
• Spring 1: March 5-April 14, 2025

Ages: 7-12 years

Location: Friendship YMCA Gymnasium

Play with the folks who invented the sport on Saturday mornings at the Y! This 8-week program will focus on the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy habits. Children will learn rules and practice basketball fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, and in most cases going the right way down the court through fun drills and games. We will end the session with games for each grade level on week eight. 30 participant maximum.

Dates: January 11-March 1, 2025

Schedule: Saturday mornings

• Kindergarten: 9:00-10:00am
• Grades 1-2: 10:00-11:00am

Location: Northern Dauphin County YMCA

In this clinic, Unleashed Potential will be providing all-around basketball skill and game development. The workout will include ball handling, finishing, shooting, passing and competition. It will be a high energy, fast-paced and challenging workout that will feature individual development, group development, and communication.

Unleashed Potential works with thousands of kids from all over the country and world. Some of their most notable partnerships are with USA Basketball, Duke Men and Women, Villanova Women, Boston Celtics Jr. NBA, and FIBA International coaches. This is a co-ed event. Max of 30 participants.

Demonstrate your basketball skills in this one-time event, competing against others to win the first annual competition. Drills include ball handling, passing, and shooting. Bring a favorite basketball or the Y will provide one. Prize awarded to the winner in each age group.
