Welcome to our Half-Day Kindergarten Program!

Registration opens for:

Past Participants – May 1st
YMCA members – May 8th
Everyone – May 15th

Please download and complete the forms here: Half-Day Kindergarten 2023-2024 Information. We need a completed packet for each child you are registering. If your forms are not received, your registration will be canceled.

Care for the Half-Day Kindergarten will begin on the first day of school, August 28th.

7:00-9:00 Welcome/Greet Each Other/Table toys
9:00-9:30 Large Centers (Do Art during play time)
9:30-10:00 Circle Time
10:00-10:15 Gross Motor Movement (get the children up and moving)
10:15-10:45 Subject Activity (Math, Science or Social Studies)
1045-11:15 Outside Activity (weather permitting)
11:15-11:30 Transitional Activities (Sing the ABC song, Count to 100, Count to 10
frontwards/backwards)
11:30-12:30 Lunch/Get ready to go to school

PM
12:30-1:30 Lunch/Arrive from school
1:30-2:00 Circle Time
2:00-2:15 Gross Motor Movement (get the children up and moving)
2:15-2:45 Subject Activity (Math, Science or Social Studies)
2:45-3:00 Transitional Activities (Sing the ABC song, Count to 100, Count to 10
frontwards/backwards)
3:00-3:30 Snack
3:30-4:00 Group Activity (Simon Says, Freeze Dance, Kids in Motion)
4:00-6:00 Outside Activity/Centers in the classroom

TUITION ASSISTANCE: The YMCA accepts participants who qualify for subsidy. If you qualify for any kind of assistance, or need information, please contact Jessica Mattern to learn more about your child’s care.
The Harrisburg Area YMCA Annual Campaign raises funds to provide scholarships for participants in need of assistance with membership and childcare. This scholarship program can provide relief if your family does not qualify for other types of assistance. If interested, please request a financial aid form from Jessica Mattern.
